My grandpa used to always tell me, “Learn from the mistakes of others. You won’t have to repeat their same mistakes and you’ll get ahead much more quickly.”
Well, I wish I put that piece of wisdom into better use a long time ago. I’ve made my share of mistakes in business, and in life.
I’m sure you have too.
We all do. It’s the benefit of being a human.
You will fail at something. At least once. And probably more than once.
And that’s why I started this podcast
We all have stories of mistakes and failures. And they’re probably similar to the mistakes and failures someone else is about to make.
You can’t learn unless you make mistakes. Or can you?
The guests on the show are here to share their failures so you can fail vicariously. You can fail to learn along with them.
Then, you can have the insight if and when you’re on the path to making the same mistakes.
You may enjoy the stories of success. They’re always fun to read and hear. However, I deeply agree with what Jim Collins wrote:
We do ourselves a disservice by studying only success.
This show is about studying failure
It’s not about making anyone feel bad. It’s about glorifying the mistakes of the past. Because these mistakes are the stepping stones to success.
You can’t become great without setbacks.
So let’s celebrate our failures and mistakes and put them behind us. And keep them there as another tool in our tool belt to building a successful business.
I’m glad you’re on this journey and hope you enjoy the show.
